Get to Know Me
I was born and raised in Michigan. Growing up, I always enjoyed science and math. The idea of working in a health field occurred to me later, while I was running cross country and track in college. In many ways, the dedication and discipline I learned as a runner laid the foundation for my career in medicine.
Why I Treat Children
My patients are fun, sincere and so trusting that it inspires me to be their best advocate. One of the many things I like about my job is the opportunity to have great conversations every day. I enjoy them all — from a cooing contest with a two-month-old to a discussion about a stressful high school situation with a teenager.
What I'm Passionate About
Children deserve access to health care, and I work to provide equal and inclusive care. I feel a responsibility to do everything I can to make sure all the children I see get the care they need.
How I Try to Make A Difference
By following the simple rule about treating the person — not just the illness. I also look for little opportunities that can change the hearts and minds of others when it comes to interacting with patients and families who are dealing with illness.
