Get to Know Me
I always knew I wanted to be a doctor. In medical school, I realized my true calling was pediatrics because those residents were the happiest people around. It’s still true — we have the most fun because we get to take care of kids! I’m from Jamaica, have lived in Florida for more than 25 years, and I’m the mother of three sons and a daughter.
Why I Treat Children
It’s a privilege to be able to help parents do the hardest job in the world — raise their children. I believe that children are our future. If we can help children to reach their potential, and if we treat all children equally well - no matter who they are or where they came from, we can change that future.
What I'm Passionate About
I’m passionate about injury prevention because it’s the best way to save children’s lives. I’m also passionate about healthy living and healthy habits. If we start with babies, we’ll turn the tide of the obesity epidemic. Teaching parents what to expect and how to navigate through infancy, childhood and adolescence makes their job a lot easier.
How I Try to Make A Difference
Some doctors like children but find working with parents a challenge. Not me! As a mother of four, I tend to deliver care as a partner with parents. I’m here to advocate for the child’s well-being and to share my knowledge and training — parents can take it from there.
