Biography

Jessica Pierce, PhD is a Research Scientist in the Nemours Center for Healthcare Delivery Science, a pediatric psychologist in the Division of Behavioral Health at 波色单双 Hospital-Florida and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Pierce's research focuses on the promotion of health and well-being in understudied patient populations in pediatric type 1 diabetes, young adults and very young children. She has received funding from NIH and other agencies for this work. Dr. Pierce is an expert in crowdsourcing methodology, engaging stakeholder groups as research partners, and user-centered intervention design. She has published extensively and spoken at national and international conferences on these topics. Dr. Pierce serves on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Behavioral Medicine & Psychology Interest Group Leadership Board and the ADA Mental Health Advisory Committee and is past president of the Behavioral Research and Diabetes Group Exchange and past chair of the Society for Pediatric Psychology Diabetes Special Interest Group. She is the Psychosocial Section Editor for the journal Current Diabetes Reports and an editorial board member for Journal of Pediatric Psychology and Pediatric Diabetes. Within Nemours, Dr. Pierce is the Director of Research Fellowship Training for the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science.
