Biography

Kirk W. Reichard, MD., MBA, FACS, FAAP is the Medical Director for Perioperative Services and the Surgical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program at 波色单双, Delaware, as well as Clinical Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at Jefferson Medical College. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Reichard served as resident and chief resident in General Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and subsequently he completed his fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He also earned a Masters in Business Administration at the University of Texas in Dallas. His special clinical interests include pediatric surgical oncology, minimally invasive surgery, chest wall deformities, inflammatory bowel disease, adolescent bariatric surgery and surgery of newborns. He has authored over 70 peer reviewed articles and abstracts, including several in the adolescent bariatric surgical literature, and has spoken at and moderated numerous national conference sessions on the topic. Dr. Reichard's administrative responsibilities include overseeing both operational and continuous improvement activities in the Peri-operative environment, as well as championing clinical standardization and value-based care throughout the organization. In that capacity, he has developed an active interest in the application of Lean principles to the Healthcare industry, as well as in strategic planning and program development.
